Google Tools, Gifs and Geometry

In the latest episode of The Suite Talk, I connected with a Lynda Moore from Georgia who is a high school math teacher and has been teaching for 29 years.

She totally digitized her daily math lessons, assessments, reflections, using Google tools, such as Google Slides, Google Forms for live data, Google Drawings, Google Sheets, and hyperslides.  She also used several Chrome extensions such as Screencastify, Bitmoji, EquatIO and Remote for Slides. Everything is available through Google Classroom.

I was truly amazed and impressed with her digital workflow.  Her workflow consisted of a learning goal, the standards, the teacher taught section, the student assessment, and reflection. She had all of this information in a hyperslide.  In addition, the hyperslide included animations, and small interactives for the students to check for understanding. The assessments were branched Google Forms that contained questions that included videos and images.

She totally flipped her math class!  This technique allows her students to learn at their own pace, and gives them ownership of their education. The material is available on Google Classroom so students have the information at all times. Don’t get me wrong, she did admit, it took about two weeks for the students to become acquainted with it.  However, now that she has invested the time to flip her class and provide digital resources, she has the gift of time at the end.

Don’t miss this episode.  Watch this episode of The Suite Talk and see what she has created.
