10 G Suite Apps to get started with Remote Learning













Get your lessons into Google Drive!  

  • Recreate your documentation, or upload it into Drive





For Google Classroom:


Middle School/High School users:
    • Create daily topics in your classroom using the date, ie 3/13/2020
    • For each topic,
      • create individual assignments for students to complete.  Due dates are optional.
      • create a check in assignment which will be for attendance. Instruct students to mark this as done, include a due date.
      • Be sure you number your daily assignments accordingly, ie: #001, #002, etc.
Elementary School users:
    • Create daily topics in your classroom using the date, ie: 3/13/2020
    • Create a check in assignment for that day for attendance
    • Create subject area assignments and for that day 
      • Topic 3/13/2020
        • #001 Check in
        • #002 History 
        • #003 Math
        • #004 Science
        • #005 ELA
    • Be sure you number your daily assignments accordingly, #001, #002
Grading
    • Utilize the grade book feature to keep track of your grades.





Create a Google Meet session to have a face to face, live presentation, Q & A, or discussion.
Be sure Google Meet is enabled in your domain.

  • Record the live session.
  • Add the link into Google Classroom.
  • A new update is available and will roll out to allow up to 250 people connect in a Google Meet session.






Create calendar events of a schedule to share with your students. Google Classroom automatically creates a calendar for each class a student joins. 

  • Students can access the Google calendar on the ‘Classwork’ page 



                        







Use Screencastify or WeVideo to record your lessons. Create a playlist on your YouTube channel and share them in Google Classroom. If necessary, both applications will save the videos into Drive.









Use Google docs with students and provide feedback using in-document commenting.





Use Google Forms to create quizzes. 

     




Have students show their work using Jamboard. 
  • Go to Drive to access Jamboard.
  • Talk to your Google admin to enable it in the domain. 






Use Applied Digital Skills to find lessons that align with subjects and standards.  There are tons of lessons for K-12 students.






Use Google Earth or Google My Maps for geography, cultural, art, social studies, math, ELA, or science.
  • Google My Maps can be found in Drive.
